Severe storms will begin hammer the East coast starting on Friday, April 20.
There is the chance of thunderstorms and hail Friday and Saturday for the US South East extending from Florida to Virginia and Alabama. Weak tornadoes are possible under the conditions.
Rain will occur along the entire East coast including Atlantic Canada from Saturday to Monday. Heaviest rain will occur on Late Saturday into Sunday for southern states such as Florida, and Georgia, while the rest of the East coast will receive the heaviest rain Late Sunday and Monday. It will reach the Northeast and Atlantic Canada late Monday.
The storm may strengthen and create risks of flooding along the coast. New England area have the possibility of seeing up to 100 mm (4 inches) of rain.
Cooler air in Quebec and New York may change the precipitation into snow. Western New York can see any where from 0 inches (0 cm) to 6 inches (15 cm) of snow.
Ontario and Montreal will likely see 5-15 cm (2-6 inches) of snow. Areas around Quebec City will be hit hard with possibly 30 cm (12 inches) of snow. Freezing rain is likely along the transition zone of rain and snow.
Winds will be quite strong with the system. Winds speed will range from 20 km/h (12 mph) to 60 km/h (40 mph). Strongest winds will occur in Atlantic Canada.
